Sounds like it's too long. If the outer part of the cable is about the right length, you can shorten the inside by moving the ferrule at the carburator end. Directions attached.

Hello. I am working on my 51s and heres my problem (first one ive found!):
it will start, but then dies. turn throttle and it doesnt increase the r5pms or rev up or anything. I tinkered and fig out that top of carb is where cable goes in. If I loosen cable COMPLETELY and lift up throttle cable by hand bike revs. so problem seems there is not enough screw to be unscrewed far enough for throttle to work when rotated by hand on handlebars. do i have wrong throttle cable? is it too long? is it too short?
