Gene, your 165 (with a charged battery) will be on whenever the switch is in the correct position. If the battery runs down the lights will dim at low RPM an indication that the generator isn't charging enough or the battery isn't holding a charge. I put fuses on my 48 such that the wire wouldn't melt, look up what the wire will carry. Doug

What are the pros and cons of installing a fuse on a
54 165 ? What amp would be appropriate ?
