----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- I got lucky a number of years back trying to save a set of 'no hole' '48 grips by boiling them in water for about 20 minutes. Be sure and wear heavy duty gloves when you pull the grip/handlebar out of the pot.
