Hi Mark
Thanks for the feedback,
The bike was a craigslist find local as I'm sure you know.
What drew me most to the bike was its history.
Bought new buy a fellow in Lebanon who took it on many fishing
adventures with his wife.
Sorry to say he passed a few months back at 82 yrs,
The family decided to part with it,they were asking 5000 I offered 4K and
they accepted, I think I still payed on the high side but I do have existing
Oregon plates and history which says a lot for the bike.
Regards,Howard

I live in Salem, so does Duane Taylor. I would keep it
original if possible, they seem to be worth more that way
as time goes on. Also restoration gets to be very
expensive. I know how much you paid, because i was
considering buying that bike too. Think the most you can
get for that model showroom restored is around 6 grand.
Have two '62 scats that i've been working on for awhile.

Let me know if you need any help,

Mark

Hi Everyone,
Just bought a 1965 Scat, with 1100 miles
From a collectors point, would it be worth restoring the
bike or just clean it up and get the mechanicals in order.
Also I live in Salem Oregon area can anyone recommend a
reputable mechanic that works on these classics.
I plan on keeping the bike for display and to ride.
Thank you in advance for any response.
