Is it possible that there is a pipe inside that filter that would act as a reserve if you tipped the bike to that side? That may be my problem, in that I'm not tipping it far enough to the side to get gas, if it is made that way.

JIM:
RE YOUR NO GAS PROBLEM. VENTING WOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM WITH THE L & L CARBURETOR. THE BOWL IS NOT SEALED AND THE FLOAT PLUNGER HOLE IS OPEN ENOUGH TO VENT AS NEEDED.

FIRST TO CHECK NOW: REMOVE THE CARBURETOR, TAKE THE FLOAT BOWL COVER OFF AND REMOVE THE FLOAT. NOTE THE SMALL FLOAT PIN SOCKET IN BOTTOM OF THE FLOAT BOWL. USING A 1/6TH IN DIAMETER DRILL BIT AND YOUR THUMB/FOREFINGER, ROTATE THE DRILL BIT TO CLEAN THAT SOCKET OUT COMPLETELY. WHEN/IF
THAT SOCKET IS FULL OF "CRUD" THE METERING PIN CANNOT
DROP AND NO GAS WILL FLOW.

This petcock only has one tube. That being said, I am going to take it back out and take it apart, clean the thing up and put it back together and back in the tank.

On one of my bikes. Had same problem. The peacock....I could blow thru
the reserve tube, not thru the ref tube. So I took the longer tube piece off of
the inside of the petcock and put it on the other side, and now it works fine.

Not getting gas from the petcock to the carb. Took the petcock out. Filter
seemed to be clean. Blew air thru it. Didn't seem restricted. Put it back it. It
took about 10 minutes to fill the carb. Started it and rode it about 2 blocks.
It went dead. I touched the tickler. No gas in the carb. Took it about 10-15
minutes to fill the carb. It doesn't make sense. Any way I might could put a
new filter on the petcock?
