For the belly numbers, Palmer (page 10) give this for late-1950 and later first digit code

1 = E and F
2 = S and ST
3 = W and G
4 = not used (previously used for U)
5 = K
6 = B and BT
7 = XL

So shouldn't the 1962 Pacer, Scat, and Ranger have belly numbers starting with 662 (or 661 for some very early production)?

The 961 belly number of you left case makes
the left case a 1961 Super 10. The "9" isn't Septmeber, but
the number HD used to designate a particular motor type,
in the case of all 1960 to 1966 models, the 9 stood for
"lightweight", not Panhead or Servicar or Sportster
