THE CORRECT GAS CAP SHOULD LEAK ON TANK INVERSION AS IT HAS
SMALL AIR CHANNELS TO ALLOW YOUR TANK TO "BREATH" AS GAS IS DRAINED TO THE CARBURETOR WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. IF
THE CAP WAS FUEL & AIR TIGHT, A VACUUM WOULD DEVELOP IN THE TANK AND YOUR ENGINE WOULD SHUT DOWN FOR LACK OF FUEL.

TANK CAPS ARE AVAILABLE THAT DO NOT HAVE THE BREATHER
OPTION AND WILL NOT LEAK ON TANK INVERSION.

I'm getting ready to clean out my gas tank with POR-15. Is there a trick to getting the gas cap to seal? When I invert the tank it leaks. Cap is new, new seal in place and the sealing surface on top of the tank looks in good shape. ??
