1959 Model 165

The 1959 Model 165...

A major change for the 1959 Model 165 was the speedometer. The larger AC unit required changes to the front fork. The new speedo would continue in use through 1965, and a similar AC unit, but without a trip odometer, was used on the Topper scooter.

Paint Colors

Tank main, fenders, fork panel are below. Tank highlights are Birch White.
Standard: Calypso Red, Skyline Blue (TLB)
Optional Colors: Hi-Fi Red, Hi-Fi Turquoise
Optional Colors (mid-year): Hi-Fi Coral

The Spring Special Dealer Order Blank shown in the 1959 Literature chapter shows "Hi-Fi Coral". We believe this to have been a mid-year offering, perhaps a "Spring Special". We suspect that "Coral", "Hi-Fi Coral" and "Tropical Coral" are the same color, but we have no documentation.

See the Paint Colors chapter for details.
