Note that on the top of the carb slide cap (part 1) on Dave's pic there is an adjustment screw (and lock nut). If this adjustment screw is missing the outer coil will fall way to deep into the carb and the 2-1/8" of extension is way to much. The adjustment screw is not identified by number or letter but might be in the directions (I gave up trying to read them).

no. i didnt install it, but peter did a lot of work to this bike and it may be a new throttle cable.
im gonna follow instructions dave sent me and info from the good dr and we will see what happens.
thanks very much you guys. once i try this (with john dutra's help) I will let ya know what happens.

could be in the throttle grip itself,,like set screw #7 on Daves directions---I would start by unscrewing carb. top and with it in one hand-use the other hand to twist the throttle and see if any thing feels like its moving,if not check #7 screw,,,who knows- the inner cable might be broke at the connection in the bars or just plain came out,Is this a new cable that you just installed yourself?

Sounds like it's too long. If the outer part of the cable is about the right length, you can shorten the inside by moving the ferrule at the carburator end. Directions attached.
