I received an e-mail with an explaination.
Evidently, if its a NATIONAl event, the local chapter must pay back 1/2 of the vending fees to the AMCA. But if its a REGIONAL event, 100% of the fees goes back to local chapter. It all makes sense now!

I believe Eustis, and several other local chapters, are doing the same thing.

I also heard that the AMCA is not accounting as to where the money is being spent, once its handed over by the locals.

I hope they get things resolved, and the club continues to prosper!

IMO only based on the little that I have read....

I believe the whole thing started over Money.
Money that's paid back to the AMCA for National Meets?
I could be way off-base.
Thus the move to Regional. The Blackhawk Chapter stated that they have become something like $20k in the Red, because of hosting the Davenport National Meet.

I saw that as strange? How could a production that big end up costing the host Chapter money?
That ain't right.

Our AMCA is having other problems too.
Sunshine National Meet moving locations, has created another fracture in a few venders starting another show.

IMO our AMCA Board of Directors have lost touch with the Club Membership.
Maybe it's time for the Club Membership to elect the Board of Directors?

Sad sad state of affairs.

Is anyone following the dispute between the AMCA and the local Blawkhawk Davenport chapter?

Can anyone provide details that make logical sense?

Initially, I thought that the AMCA demoted the Davenport status from being a "NATIONAL" event, to now only a "REGIONAL" event.

However, after doing some research, the way I now understand it, is that the Blackhawk chapter (not the AMCA) actually voted against keeping Davenport a NATIONAL event, and instead voted to make it a regional event only.

Why on earth, would the Blackhawk club, NOT want to keep Davenport, as a National event?

This doesnt make any sense to me.

Sort of like shooting yourself in the foot, on purpose!

Anyone know the answers?
