Duane,

No problem, mon - that's what we're here for. I updated the Battery page a little bit. There's an interesting Sportster factoid at the very bottom.

I called I called Geoff Erdos whom Robbie mentioned, and left a message. I also called two K-model people I know, but haven't heard back from anyone as yet.

It seems that the K-model and early-Sportster crowd is a pretty sparse group. If anyone knows anyone knowledgeable in this area, please let us know.

While we probably will never get the exact year for the change from green paint to orange 100% correct, I'm starting to think that the no-paint bar-and-shield version probably did start in 1960 - since 1959 was the last year for the Model 165, these were now spare parts - so why spend the extra nickel for paint?

JUST TO SAY THANKS TO MUTT, DAVE AND ROBBIE FOR THE RESEARCH AND COMMENT ON BATTERIES AND WHEN THE WERE USED. SPECIAL THANKS TO JIM GODWIN AND PERRY RUITER FOR THE OLD BATTERIES THEY SENT SO I COULD COPY THEM.
