I have NOT replaced the ignition points, nor the rotor, nor the wiring harness (the harness on the bike is brand new).
I've considered running individual wires everywhere just to bypass wiring harness and thereby eliminating it as the culprit.
Definitely replace the ignition points - they're the same as the stoplight points. Many points sets are made in China, some are good and some are made of the wrong metals. I've had a lot of problems with defective tractor points in the past few years.
If that doesn't do it, I'd wire up the ignition system only using the simplified schematic. Since the harness is new, it's suspect until proven otherwise.
