My understanding is lower octane (Regular) 'explodes' as compared to higher octane (Premium) that's 'a controlled burn'. High performance engines are timed differently from low compression (flat head) motors. If you're running an expansion chamber on your bike would the still flaming exhaust ignite the un-burned reserve in it? I'm hoping the racing boys will jump in here and educate us all. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Can I use 89 octane for the hammer or track with 87 or should I use 93 |
