THE THIN METAL PLATE YOU NOTE IN THE PARTS BOOK (PN38015-49) IS A REPAIR PART TO BE USED IF THE CLUTCH BASKET INNER FACE IS
OR WAS DAMAGED/RUSTED, ETC. THE PLAIN CLUTCH DISKS (PN37974-47)ARE USED AS ILLUSTRATED AND 2 ARE REQUIRED.
IF YOUR CLUTCH UNIT IS CLEAN AND ASSEMBLED CORRECTLY AND STILL WILL NOT RELEASE THEN YOU NEED TO ADJUST IT. THE SERVICE MANUAL SHOULD DESCRIBE THAT PROCEDURE.
HOPEFULLY, THIS WILL CLARIFY SOME OF THE MUD IN YOUR DAUBER.

can anyone tell me exactly how many metal plates I need in the clutch? A diagram shows no metal 1st plate against the drum. The parts book shows a thin metal plate. I used a 1st metal plate and looks like me clutch will disengage but it won't.
