Robbie is right - 5/16-32 - totally oddball size McMaster-Carr is your new best friend - www.mcmaster.com Here are their taps: 2521A418 - for starting threads 2521A428 - through-hole 2521A446 - closed-end ("bottoming") I bought a through-hole tap and a bottoming tap (about $8 each), and keep them in my toolbox. The through-hole usually does the trick, but there are a couple places on different Harleys where you might need the bottoming tap. Indian and Henderson grease fitting are the same thread! McMaster-Carr is great. Shipping is always next-day delivery, and shipping costs are always low. Dave ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Original H-D grease zerks are 5/16-32. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Anyone know the correct tap size for the grease fittings? 1/4-28 is too small and 1/8 NPT is way too big. Maybe a 5/16-28 which is really non-standard |
