MOUNTING SADDLEBAGS.

THERE WERE/ARE TWO OPTIONS WITH BOTH BEING THE SAME AS THAT OFFERED BY HARLEY IN ANCIENT TIMES.

90985-49A SADDLEBAG HANGERS. THIS WAS A 4 PIECE, CHROMED ASSEMBLY WITH 2 DEBOSSED STRAPS STRADLING AND BOLTED TO THE REAR FENDER AND A HORIZONTAL FLAT STRUT SECURED TO THE STRAPS, EACH SIDE. A SADDLEBAG
WAS THEN BOLTED TO THE HORIZONTAL STRAP ON EACH SIDE. THIS PART IS PICTURED IN SOME OF THE HARLEY ACCESSORY BROCHURES.

A53400-47 LUGGAGE CARRIER. THERE WERE/ARE PRE PUNCHED HOLES ON EACH SIDE OF THE LUGGAGE CARRIER. THESE HOLE SPACINGS MATCH THOSE IN THE INTERNAL SADDLEBAG MOUNTING STRAP.

I WOULD POST PICTURES IF I KNEW HOW BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW, NOW.

DUANE

here is a NOS 90985-49A . Package says 125 saddle bag hanger, but I think it is a saddle bag stiffner. Goes inside to keep the bags from collapsing. Only got the one. $20 plus shipping. Makes a good pattern to make the other one.
