Tangerine WAS available in 1957 too. We restored an original B MODEL for a guy in Ft. Worth. Underneath a zip can color was Tangerine. deep into the tank's areas where no sun had ever been and definately no sand blaster had ever been
The documents say it was only available on 56 ST models, but a B model tank and a ST model tank are 2 different tanks.
Contrary to popular opinion, Harley was in the business to sell motorcycles. If I said Harley sold 2 motorcycles that were COMPLETELY chromed, every piece of metal you could see on the bike, some would say I was off my rocker, yet there is a record of both bikes. A rigid frame model and a swing arm model, both Panheads if I remember right.
The concensus says once Harley offered the color, it could still be had up until 5 years later, which the 57 B Tangerine bike proves at least one year later. From 1917 thru 1981, you could get any bike in Olive green (excluding the years of WWII when there were no civilian bikes being produced)
