I have a '65 BT basket case with a bad rod bearing and the cases need to come apart. Many years ago, someone tried to disassemble it, mangled 3 of the case screw heads, and gave up. Since the heads are in a counterbore, the options for removal methods are rather limited. I decided to put the bottom end in my mill, and use a 3/8 diameter end mill to plunge cut deep enough to mill away the screw heads. I hope I can get the cases separated with the remains of the screws in the case. If I'm successful, I'm sure they'll come out of the other case with Vice Grips. Anybody tried this?
