I've tested a few bikes the same way in my life...twice in sand and once while going over wet railroad tracks -smile-

The photo of the "testing" shows some unusual crash bars ("safety guard") that are very different than the ones on production bikes. They swoop along the bike and fasten to the outside of the footpegs. I have seen only one of these on bikes over the years, and I thought it was aftermarket. The photo below is a blow-up of one in the Stuff section of the website, under Hummers On The Nation's Capital. Owners: Perry and Carla Tilley.

But now we know it was Harley. I wonder if it was an experimental unit that somehow escaped...
