I can't imagine in my wildest dreams trying to use a Sprint motor. Modifications on so many levels would be required that there wouldn't be much left of what you started with. Mutt can get power out of the little two strokes if you want to keep an original type engine.

"You can always do some extreme porting and get a good expansion chamber designed around your porting. There's a 50 125 that turned a 14.5 sec standing start 1/4 mile in 1950 on the Hummer club website"

hey mutt, can you post a link to this ?

Hi this was one of my bikes I built to race at davenport. It has a pucket head he made racing parts for harley hummers. The cylinder has been ported a lot and it has a reed box I made to mount the two mikuni carbs. It has all the racing gears in it and a seven spring clutch the ex. is off a dirt bike made to fit. I raced it at davenport only one time because they thought I did to much work on it that it would't be fair to others that can't do this kind of work. The bike would go just over 85 mph on the street and it was a joy to ride. Thanks for the pict. I miss that bike but I can build a new one. yours truley Stan Waite PS I now live in fla. where its summer all year.

Mutt,
Thanks for pointing that dead link out. I checked into it and it was linked to an article that was posted for only a short time and is no longer available. I thought it was going to be a continuing link as 'nothing ever goes away on the internet' so I didn't copy/paste the info. Hind sight is 20/20 so YES, I should have. Ooops.

Stan, just out of curiosity: did that bike have the race gears I sold you at Harmony that one year?
