chrome or paint

Decision time. The 48 125's had a choice of chrome or paint rims. My 48 had chrome rims, the handle bar was black. If I paint the rims I will need to have the chrome stripped off before paint, shouldn't cost too much. If I have the rims rechromed the cost is about 220 for both. So my question. What looks better chrome, or black rims and handle bar. Too me it doesn't make much difference. I guess as the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Your thoughts? Stan

The chromed rims were a $7.00 dealer/factory option if I recollect?
The chromed rims should add value if/when you are ready to sell. $220.00 more, not sure.
I powder coated mine black, and re laced with stainless spokes and nipples. That won't win points in a 100 point show, however they look badass and will stay that way for as long as it's under my watch!..

black rims & bars make the bike look old, like it's supposed to be. Chrome rims & bars make it look newer

Looks like I will be painting my rims, and bars black. After doing some checking I can sand blast the rims, and put on a epoxy prime,r and paint which I already have, so there is a savings over chrome. Stan
