Cylinder Skirt Damage

Postby AdamW » Wed Apr 21, 2021 9:14 pm

('63 Scat) Ugh, put off the restore to work on other bikes (2yrs). Upon start up I notice that even though its running there is also a LOT of rattling. No power either when I released the clutch. I finally got into the top end today and discovered a disaster. My new piston is missing the front skirt, the back skirt has a crack, the needle bearing in the rod is gone, and my cylinder skirts are now cracked in 3 places. I've since dried my tears and come to terms with the damage. My question is, what are my options at this point with the cylinder?

FYI: Photos(jpg) are not attaching in any browser. Also not seeing a question under the subject, only ': this question is a means of preventing.....by spambots'
