Trans mainshaft fitment

Postby Emerica1975 » Wed Dec 29, 2021 2:06 am

I was replacing the left case mainshaft bearing and realized I don’t know how far to press the main shaft back into the bearing. I took a guess and pressed it to where it looked like the main shaft was on the old bearing but that’s not very exact. Thank you for any advice.

Thanks for the quick reply!! What about the bearing on the other side of the main shaft? Do I press it up the same as the left? It looks like there’s a little more to it. Or am I just over thinking all of this? I guess I really need a better repair manual than the one I have. Any suggestions on where and what book to buy would be awesome. Thanks again for all your help your a wealth of info!!
