18" rim

Postby Backyard Bob » Sun Mar 20, 2022 5:52 pm

I stripped down a couple of 18” lightweight rims and found something different. One rim has a H-D part number 43000-60.
I can’t find the number in my parts book(s).

Bob,
Numbers found directly on Harley parts are not meant to reflect its number as found in parts and accessories books. Rarely they may, but that would be an exception to the rule.

Two examples of p/n not being in the books are:
The steering neck used to repair the early model frames has a p/n but you will not find it in a parts book.
This steering neck p/n is often confused for a frame number as is customary in todays standards.
Another is the p/n found on the lower portion of the fork, where the fenders attach. That p/n refers to that portion of the fork before the solid rod of the fork is joined to the fender portion of the fork. The assembly has a p/n found in the parts books.
