Speedometer

Postby Emerica1975 » Mon Oct 24, 2022 10:21 pm

I’ve recently acquired an AC speedometer and installed it in a bike with 19 inch wheels. The needle will start to move as the bike speeds up but then makes a squealing sound and the needle starts going all the way around the dial. The cable spins freely and the needle will move when I turn it by hand. Do I need to lubricate the speedometer or does it not work with these size wheels or do I just need it rebuilt. I’m guessing the wheel size would only adjust the accuracy of it reading the actual speed. But I’m stoked to have found this and want to get it sorted.
Thanks!!
