Are you asking about #10 the lighting coil, or #11 the ignition coil?

I figured while we’re talking coils I would mention that I found a pretty good article on a chainsaw website about how to replace the old Bendix scintilla coil with a wico one. I haven’t been able to find any of the nos 1.5 inch long coils to replace my broken one but there’s plenty of wico ones to use. The article is on the Outdoor Power Equipment forum. It’s a pretty good read.

A Wico coil from a Homelite XL-101, 102, 103, 76 or a Remington SL-9, 10, 14 or 16.

We seem to have established you are looking for a lighting coil. This would have 1 set of somewhat large diameter (18 gauge?) primary windings.

The ignition coil would have both primary and very fine secondary windings. I can't imagine a chainsaw having a primary only coil suitable for lighting only.

Sorry I’m referring to the Bendix scintilla (k1-) style magneto that at the very beginning of this whole thread. But yes they use the square coil.
