165 cylinder bore measurement

Postby Emerica1975 » Mon Mar 06, 2023 11:36 pm

I bought a cylinder that someone has brazed a 3 bolt linkert flange to. I’m wanting to try it out however it needs to be bored out , the inside is a little ruff. I’m wondering if someone can tell me how big the bore can be before it can no longer be bored anymore? Thanks!!

Another option to boring is nikasil or similar plating. Millennium Technologies is a good choice for this work. Even if the bore is @ max oversize, plating can bring it back to a smaller size.

If you choose or need to go the plating route, I recommend you send the piston along with the cylinder.

That way there will be no confusion about what the final bore size should be.
