Hello and thanks for the opportunity to join the club. There is so much information in a club like this. I have a 1954 165 ST that I have owned for about 15 years. After riding it for awhile when purchased it was put away for the winter and never saw the light of day after that. I have decided to restore it back to the original glory. Have it torn done in little bitty pieces as of yesterday and started the process. The engine is still together, but will come apart when the metal goes to the painter.. All the standards are sand blasted and ready for plating. Sheet metal is started. Will be looking for new tires, rims, spokes, and seat along with other pieces. I want to take it for a ride in the spring. Thanks again!!!

I sold my 1954 ST 165 to a Richard Finney on 7/22/08. Mine was the same colors as yours. I wonder if there is any chance your bike is the same one that I used to own. The ID number on mine was ST 165 2025. Mine was painted Daytona Ivory with a Forest Green tank. I recently restored a 1954 ST 165 and showed it twice at two AMCA meets receiving a perfect score of 100 points at both meets. Mutt answered many of my questions during the restoration. If I can be of any help to you feel free to contact me.

Yes John it is I. Road it for awhile off and on then put it away and that is where it was fort a long time. As you may remember I restore Triumphs and have been busy with that. We should get together. Mutt has been very helpful already, a great source of knowledge. Rich
