Hi all, it's been awhile since I was here. I thought I'd share my latest find and maybe learn something along the way. I picked up a 1955 STU 165 bottom end recently that appears to have been raced. The case castings that attached the carb covers have been ground away, the generator was gutted and rigged for total loss ignition and there has been some trickery performed on the intake skirt. I didn't get the cylider or head so no idea if they were tricked. Is anyone familiar with this porting mod ? BTW it's .020 over.

yeah, that's a Puckett piston mod.
Do your transfer ports in the cases look like these?

Het MUTT, thanks for the feedback. I haven't split the cases yet. I'm really not sure what I'll be doing with it. I have a 55 ST roller that needs a motor but I also have a nice start on a Hummer roller or I could build a Po Boy race bike toy with it. It rolls over real nice but I wouldn't trust it without a rebuild.
