Hello FROM CT.

Postby sureshotbob » Sun Dec 02, 2018 12:47 pm

Hello from CT. I just joined .My name is sureshotbob several years ago I inherited a bunch of H.D. light weight stuff.
To start I've got 3 L/W type 1 or 2 frames ,2 complete girder forks plus a partial fork. 1 of the frames came with a 1948 motor missing the generator the serial # is 48S10789.

Next is a rolling chassis {missing the gas tank and motor} from looking at the how to restore part of the forum it looks to be a 1957-58 frame with a Tela- glide front end that the top tree is stamped Hummer . It has a 1951 type speedo and front and rear brakes with 3.50x18 tires.
If I can find out for sure I'd like to find a motor for this one as the 1948 will be harder to find parts for I think.

CT:
25 YEARS AGO IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO RESTORE A 48-50 MODEL. SINCE THEN A LOT OF THE "IMPOSSIBLE" TO FIND PARTS HAVE BEEN MADE AND IN GOOD QUALITY AND AUTHENTICITY.
THERE WAS A TOTAL OF 22,116 OF THE 48-49-50 MODELS MADE SO IT IS STILL THE BIGGEST RESERVOIR OF THESE BIKES "OUT THERE" TO BE FOUND AND RESTORED.
THERE IS A LOT OF HELP AVAILABLE SO FEEL FREE TO POST QUESTIONS OR ASK ANYONE ELSE ON THIS SITE.
NEED QUOTES OR HAVE QUESTIONS I WILL BE GLAD TO HELP. IF I DON'T HAVE A PART OR ANSWER I WILL MOST LIKELY KNOW WHO DOES.
