Clutch hub removal

Postby Emerica1975 » Tue Jun 28, 2022 12:12 pm

I am having trouble removing the clutch hub on my 1955 st motor. I have had good luck before with a gear pulled but I can’t quite get the jaws under the hub this time. Does anyone else have any way or any tool I can fashion to get it off? Thanks!!

you may have to grind the bottom of the jaws to get it to fit. Sometimes a pair of really big slotted screwdrivers will do the trick

On my 61, as per the manual, I had to remove the crank sprocket as well to get the clutch off. (That was the hard part) I made a puller for the crank sprocket. The clutch came off mine with the "Big Screwdriver" method, just a bit of moderate prying.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll have to try to make the Jaws on my puller a little thinner and give it another try. I’ve tried the big screw driver method in the past with no results and I worry about damage to my clutch basket if I pry any harder.
Thanks!!
