Rear Axle Bearing Removal 1954

Postby danno21401 » Sun May 05, 2019 11:07 pm

I'm trying to remove the bearing on the rear wheel of a 1954 165, with no luck. There appears to be a cover in place on the opposite side of the brake drum which is not coming off, or the bearing is stuck. I've tried driving the bearing out from the brake drum side but it's not budging. See pictures.

I could be wrong but is that the side with the threaded bearing lock nut ?
I believe they make a spanner wrench that fits into the holes in the lock washer.

It is a lock. If you have a large pair of snap ring pliers with 90ºpoints, you can use that to remove the lock nut. It's regular right hand thread
