Yes, after I button up my shovelhead project this summer I will start looking for a rolling chassis or parts. A friend just moved onto a small private lake and I want to build something to play with on the ice during the winter months. Also, my nephew has two boys so I need another runner built up to pass on down to the boys.

When working on the piston skirt, would it be better to drill the three holes or cut the skirt away as shown in the drawing? Is there any positives/negatives to each one?

Thanks

on the 125 piston, notch the skirt, on the 165 piston, I would hole the 4 or 5 holes. When ya notch the 165 piston as shown, it leaves only 1/4" or so of the skirt left on either side and they do break off.

Jon,

I would contact Tom VanBeek in regards to your Hummer engine (125, 165, 175 ) rebuild for that matter!

Tom VanBeek currently holds several titles as the worlds fastest Hummer engine builder!

Toms engine rebuilds have long dominated world famous tracks such as Davenport Iowa 1/2 mile dirt flat track, Wauseon Ohio 3/8 mile limestone, and even the Bonneville Salt Flats!

In fact, he build a 125cc Hummer engine that shattered the existing top speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2017, only to come back in 2018 and shatter it again!

Tom VanBeek builds the "Worlds Fastest Hummer Engine" and you would be selling yourself short , not to talk to Tom!

Tom is a member here and can be reached at 262-338-8986 .
