1958-1966 Documentation and Discussion

1958 - 1965 - General

During this period, all lightweight models for that year were available in the same colors, with the exception of the 1962 Ranger. The gas tank featured a Birch White panel or stripe on the sides of the tanks. The main part of the tank was the main color, as were the fenders and fork panel. There were exceptions in 1958 and 1960. The color listed is the "main" color - the tank panels or stripes were Birch White. Factory documentation states "tank sides" or "panels" - "Birch White"

Discussion
--- Although the documentation does not explicitly state this, we believe that for the "Black – tank sides Birch White - fenders Birch White " combination only, the fork panel was also Birch White.
GES Shows Black.  We believe this only applies to the Black/White combination.
GES Shows Birch White.  We believe this only applies to the tank panel and Black/White combination, as there is no corroborative documentation for Birch White as a main color.
DOB The DOB appears to be associated with a "Spring Special"..  We only have a partial copy, and can not determine the date. We consider Hi-Fi Blue and Hi-Fi Green to be mid-year offerings. The document is available here on this website.
